Denial, Deceit, Discovery is the heart-rending story based on true events in the life of Jack Ellis; a young Catholic man deep in denial of his own homosexuality.  It tells the story of how his own denial and the denial of his loved ones forced him to conform to the straight world, resulting in his marriage to his high school sweetheart.  After years of cruising gay porn sites, chatting online with endless guys and intimate encounters with close friends, Jack was pulled into a life of deceit with a string of sexual partners.

The story explains the pain and suffering of those around him as his secrets unfold and honesty rises up. The torture endured as Jack struggles to piece together the complex story of his own sexuality is truly moving.  Escaping the shame, Jack flees to Bangkok with his gay lover where a much greater world of deceit and discovery awaits them both.

2014-02-04 Mark .... Jack! Congratulations, not only on your amazing, eventful, enlightening and outstanding book, but also for the fact that you threw open your personal life for the world to see which must have been daunting to say the least, but also totally liberating proving how far you have truly come in life, and also the acceptance of the life you now live and thrive on.
From the moment I started reading the events of your life I could not stop, I saw myself as a mirror image of you, and it made me realize that we are all so different, yet all so alike. Your life events unfolded as if it were a script of my life, one that so many of us went through, and so many still trapped in the situation with no hope of getting out. Your reflection in the book makes one realize that there is hope and although painful one has to truly embrace oneself to be truly happy and realize that the time we are given should not be wasted on circumstances that keep us chained in unhappiness and regret.
I can honestly recommend your book to those who have been in, are in, or are planning a “gay” “straight” marriage. To the wives that were so hurt having been involved in a “gay” “straight” marriage, this book will be able to answer questions that remain unanswered and also possibly enlighten you as to the emotions suffered by your husbands that were no fault of yours, and to the gay men that have accepted their sexuality and live their lives as one should, this book will be informative yet entertaining with a heap of eroticism thrown in for good measure. Once again Congratulations and all the very best, I am waiting for the second book.
2013-09-08 Brian .... Kudos to James for having progressed so far on the path to discovery and for so articulately sharing his story!!
2013-09-08 Brian .... Great book! A total success for J. James. I hope he's writing a second book. Whether it's a follow-up to Denial, Deceit, Discovery or something different, he has a gift for making very individual, subjective experiences relatable to all readers - regardless of any differences that may separate them on the surface. That's a gift worth celebrating and supporting. Onward and Upward!
2013-07-13 Josephine .... Totally loved this book. Exciting, moving, funny and NAUGHTY. Couldn't put it down. A great insight to a gay mans struggle but totally relatable a straight girl too
2013-06-11 Tommy .... This book was so difficult to put down. The style of writing is so impressive - I laughed, cried and blushed at times. I recommend this book for all. I can't wait for a possible sequel :-)
